Atex ExMod Base Stations can be mounted in hazardous classified locations and interface with intrinsically safe optical scanners & readers. Although designed primarily for use with BCSi bar code scanners their versatility enables use with other compatible certified devices. Options include a choice of hard-wired RS232 or RS422 serial data outputs with either Ex ia (intrinsically safe) or Ex e (increased safety) connections.
Bluetooth enabled ExMod versions provide unparalled convenience used with the BCSi-RF cordless barcode scanners shown above. Antenna options include direct-mount and remote designs to enable the ExMod to be installed inside enclosures. A battery charging cradle for the BCSi-RF cordless scanner models may be connected to the intrinsically safe charging supply provided by the base station.
Rugged stainless steel packaging means that they can be used in a variety of industrial enviroments where regular commercial scanning systems may not survive.
