Explosion Proof HVAC for Hazardous Areas

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning inside a zoned area is a different discipline from HVAC in an office. Every motor, heater element, compressor and control board is a possible ignition source and must be certified for the zone, and the installation is judged as a whole. This category groups the explosion proof HVAC equipment we supply for ATEX Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22, mostly as project deliveries with a written quotation.

Cooling

The largest group is cooling. Our explosion proof air conditioners range from 1.5 to 14 kW and come as wall mount, ceiling suspended, cassette and ducted units with matching outdoor units for Zone 2/22, with Zone 1/21 versions on request. The Ex-M Extreme Temperatures series is built for ambient temperatures up to +55°C, and the Ex-M Magnum Plus is a certified reefer unit for cooled containers.

Heating, ventilation and fans

Explosion proof heaters, chillers and ventilation units are supplied to specification. Certified axial fans, such as the ATEX plate axial fan, cover extraction and pressurisation of small rooms and enclosures. If you need to verify the ventilation rate that keeps a room in a lower zone, the certified airflow meters in the measurement section are the tools for it.

How we work on HVAC projects

Send us the zone plan, the room dimensions and the heat load or the required air change rate, and we return a budget quotation with the exact certification of each component. Most HVAC systems are built to order, so lead times are longer than for handheld equipment; tell us the installation date early and we plan backwards from it.
