ATEX Airflow Meters and Sensors
Ventilation is what keeps many rooms in a lower zone, and a ventilation rate that is assumed rather than measured is a weak point in any explosion protection document. An ATEX airflow meter lets you verify the air velocity and volume flow inside the zone itself, at the duct, the extraction hood or the room outlet, without bringing in an uncertified instrument.
Handheld and fixed
The AirWolf II is a handheld airflow meter for spot checks and commissioning: air velocity and volume flow at grilles, ducts and fume extraction points, read directly on the instrument. The Sigma 911 airflow meter is the option for repeated measurements and reporting. For continuous monitoring, the ATEX airflow velocity sensor is installed in a duct and connected to the building or process control system, so a drop in extraction is detected before it becomes a problem.
Typical applications
Verification of ventilation rates for zone classification, balancing of HVAC systems in control rooms and analyser houses, checking extraction at paint booths and filling stations, and ventilation surveys in mines and tunnels. If you are looking for the climate equipment rather than the measurement, see explosion proof air conditioners and the HVAC overview.
Other meters
Instruments for other quantities are in the meters section: laser distance meters, sound level meters, radiation monitors and dataloggers. Handheld airflow meters ship from stock in 1-3 working days across Europe and worldwide, and each product page states the exact Ex marking and measuring range.
