Safety and Security Equipment for Hazardous Areas

Security in a plant means two things at once: watching the site and protecting the people on it. Both need equipment that can stay inside the zone permanently or move through it with a worker, and both are covered here. This category groups explosion proof CCTV, lone worker protection and site safety devices with ATEX and IECEx certification.

Watching the site

Fixed surveillance cameras for hazardous areas are built in stainless steel or flameproof housings and connect over IP, PoE or fibre to your video management system. The ATEX CCTV section covers dome cameras, PTZ cameras with motorised zoom up to 36x, and thermographic cameras for perimeter and process monitoring. Hikvision explosion-proof domes and bullets, the SamCon ExCam IPQ and IPM series, Commcam and Videotec Wasex are the main ranges, and the IP network camera page lists them by connection type. Handheld cameras for inspection photos are a different product and are found under ATEX cameras.

Protecting people who work alone

A worker alone in a zone needs a device that raises the alarm when they cannot. The man-down section offers the TWIG Protector Ex with GNSS positioning and the TWIG One Ex personal alarm, both intrinsically safe, and the Blackline Safety G7 dock and location beacons that turn the G7 gas detector into a connected lone worker system. Intrusion detection and site safety

The PIRAMID ATEX intrusion detector protects unmanned installations, certified exit lighting for Zone 1 keeps escape routes lit, and accessories such as mounts and enclosures complete the installation.
