The Armadex Ex UniCase with Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is a complete set for buyers looking for an ATEX or explosion proof tablet for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust). The set consists of the certified Ex UniCase enclosure, the device-specific inlay set for the Galaxy Tab S11 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11, 11 inch tablet. The enclosure is certified under ATEX (OBAC 26 ATEX 0194X) and IECEx (IECEx OBAC 26.0005X).
The protection is provided by the enclosure: Ex nR (restricted breathing) for gas and Ex tc (protection by enclosure) for dust, with the marking II 3G Ex nR IIC T6 Gc and II 3D Ex tc IIIC T85°C Dc. Tablet functions remain available
The touchscreen, cameras, microphones and speakers remain accessible. Three stainless steel push buttons operate the physical buttons of the tablet via a patented inlay system.
Enclosure construction
Milled frame of ESD-safe POM-C, transparent back plate, 3 mm silicone rubber O-ring and a transparent front cover (display window). Degree of protection IP64.
Modular inlay system
The certified enclosure is separate from the tablet. Device-specific ABS corner inlays position the Galaxy Tab S11. With the inlay set for another supported model, the same enclosure can house a different tablet.
Temperature range
Ambient temperature from -20°C to +50°C in operation and from -20°C to +60°C in storage, as stated on the certificates.

Understanding the protection concepts
Ex nR (restricted breathing): the enclosure is designed to restrict the entry of flammable gases and vapours. Gas group IIC, temperature class T6 (maximum surface temperature 85°C), equipment protection level Gc for Zone 2.
Ex tc (protection by enclosure): the enclosure keeps dust out and limits the maximum surface temperature to 85°C. Dust group IIIC, equipment protection level Dc for Zone 22.
Not Ex i or Ex d: the protection is provided by the enclosure. The set is not an intrinsically safe (Ex i) or flameproof (Ex d) design.
Specific conditions of use (X)
Both certificate numbers carry the suffix X. The certificates state the following specific conditions of use:
- The Ex UniCase may only be opened or closed outside the hazardous area.
- The USB lid and the test port plug must always be fitted in the hazardous area.
- The device must be protected from impacts with high impact energy, against excessive UV light and against high electrostatic charge processes.
Applications
The set is intended for professional use in Zone 2 and Zone 22 hazardous areas, with the functions of the Galaxy Tab S11 available inside the certified enclosure.

Inspection rounds and checks in Zone 2 and Zone 22 areas, using the touchscreen and the cameras of the tablet.
