This complete set combines the Armadex Ex UniCase enclosure, the device-specific inlay set and an Apple iPad (A16), 11 inch. It is intended for buyers looking for an ATEX or explosion proof tablet for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust). The enclosure is certified under ATEX (OBAC 26 ATEX 0194X) and IECEx (IECEx OBAC 26.0005X) and carries the marking II 3G Ex nR IIC T6 Gc and II 3D Ex tc IIIC T85°C Dc.
The UniCase provides mechanical protection while the touchscreen, cameras, microphones and speakers of the iPad remain accessible. The USB-C port is accessible as well, for use outside the hazardous area only. If the iPad needs to be replaced or renewed, this can be done without modifying the certified enclosure.

Why this set
ATEX and IECEx for Zone 2 and 22
The enclosure holds ATEX type examination certificate OBAC 26 ATEX 0194X and IECEx certificate IECEx OBAC 26.0005X, both issued by OBAC Sp. z o.o. in Gliwice, Poland, for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust).
Ex nR and Ex tc protection
Gas protection is based on restricted breathing (Ex nR), dust protection on protection by enclosure (Ex tc). The enclosure has degree of protection IP64.
The iPad stays usable
The touchscreen is operated through the display window. Three stainless steel push buttons operate the physical buttons of the iPad via a patented inlay system.
ESD-safe POM-C enclosure
Milled frame of ESD-safe POM-C with an impact-resistant display window and a transparent back plate, sealed by a 3 mm silicone rubber O-ring.
Modular design
Device-specific, modular ABS corner inlays hold the iPad in position. The iPad can be replaced or renewed without modifying the certified enclosure.
Six configurations
Choose 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, each with Wi-Fi or with Wi-Fi + 5G. The enclosure is also available on its own for your own iPad (A16).

Both certificate numbers end in X. This means the following specific conditions of use apply:
- The Ex UniCase may only be opened or closed outside the hazardous area.
- The USB lid and the test port plug must always be fitted in the hazardous area.
- The device must be protected from impacts with high impact energy, from excessive UV light and from high electrostatic charge processes.
