This complete set combines the Armadex Ex UniCase enclosure, the device-specific inlay set and a new Apple iPad Air 11 inch (M4). Why this set
ATEX and IECEx for Zone 2/22
The enclosure is certified under ATEX (OBAC 26 ATEX 0194X) and IECEx (IECEx OBAC 26.0005X), marked II 3G Ex nR IIC T6 Gc and II 3D Ex tc IIIC T85°C Dc, for use in Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust).
Ex nR and Ex tc protection
Gas protection is based on restricted breathing (Ex nR), dust protection on protection by enclosure (Ex tc). The protection is provided by the enclosure around the tablet.
IP64 enclosure of ESD-safe POM-C
Milled frame of ESD-safe POM-C with an impact-resistant polycarbonate display window, a transparent plexiglass back plate and a 3 mm silicone rubber O-ring between back plate and enclosure. Degree of protection IP64.
Tablet functions remain usable
Touchscreen, cameras, microphones and speakers remain usable. Three stainless steel push buttons operate the tablet's physical buttons through a patented inlay system.
Apple M4 with 12 GB memory
The iPad Air 11 inch (M4) has an Apple M4 chip with 12 GB memory, storage from 128 GB to 1 TB, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and optional 5G (Wi-Fi + 5G models).
Modular inlay system
The tablet is held in place by device-specific, modular ABS corner inlays. The enclosure is separate from the tablet, so the same enclosure can take another supported tablet model with the matching inlay set.

Specific conditions of use (X)
Both certificates carry the X suffix. The following conditions apply:
- The Ex UniCase may only be opened or closed outside the hazardous area.
- The USB lid and the test port plug must always be fitted in the hazardous area.
- The device must be protected from impacts with high impact energy, against excessive UV light and against high electrostatic charge processes.
