The BARTEC ET60/65EX2 Windows Tablet is a 10.1 inch rugged tablet with Windows 11 Professional (64-bit), an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U processor, 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. It is certified under ATEX (EPS 26 ATEX 1 034 X) and IECEx (IECEx EPS 26.0013X) for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust), for buyers looking for an explosion proof or intrinsically safe Windows tablet for these zones. The protection concept is intrinsic safety Ex ic; versions with the scan engine are additionally marked op is.
BARTEC developed the tablet in collaboration with Zebra Technologies. It is available as ET60EX2 (Wi-Fi only) and as ET65EX2 (Wi-Fi plus 5G/LTE and GNSS), each with or without the integrated SE55 1D/2D scan engine. The 10.1 inch display has a brightness of 1,000 nits and is optically bonded to the touch panel.

Intel Core Ultra 5 125U with 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD, running Windows 11 Professional (64-bit). A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) secures authentication data, and facial recognition can be enabled for sign-in.
10.1 inch display, 1,000 nits
Optically bonded display with Corning Gorilla Glass and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The capacitive multi-touch panel works with a bare finger, a gloved finger or a stylus; a passive stylus is included.
Optional SE55 scan engine
The SE55 1D/2D Advanced Range scan engine with IntelliFocus has a reading range of up to 12.2 m, depending on the type, size and quality of the barcode.
Wireless and ports
Wi-Fi on the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The ET65EX2 adds 5G/LTE with eSIM and nano SIM, plus GNSS. Ports: 1x USB 3.1 Type-A, 2x Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Type-C, docking and keyboard connectors.
Swappable battery
7.6 V / 4460 mAh (33.90 Wh) Li-ion battery. An internal super capacitor bridges a battery swap for at least 60 seconds. Under the certificate, the battery may only be changed or charged outside the hazardous area.

IP rating: the certified Ex marking includes IP64. The BARTEC datasheet lists IP 66 to IEC 60529. For use in hazardous areas, the IP64 in the Ex marking is the relevant value.
North America: the BARTEC datasheet lists CE and FCC/IC as further certifications and no NEC/CEC Class/Division approval for this Windows version. Do not select it where an NEC/CEC Class I, Division 2 approval is required.
Specific conditions of use (X)
Both certificate numbers end in X. The certificates list the following specific conditions of use:
- Change or charge the battery pack only outside the hazardous area.
- Use only battery pack type B7-T2Z0-0002/****.
- Connect or disconnect external ports, open the enclosure or replace the battery pack while live only when a potentially explosive atmosphere is shown to be absent.
- Protect the tablet from impacts with high impact energy and from processes that generate high electrostatic charge.
- Follow the manufacturer's safety instructions strictly.
The datasheet adds that the supplied screws for locking the I/O ports and the battery must be tightened when the tablet is used in hazardous areas.

BARTEC positions the ET60/65EX2 Windows Tablet for the energy, chemical and process industries. With Windows 11 Professional, it can run existing Windows business applications, for example for inspection, maintenance and work orders in Zone 2 and Zone 22 areas. The versions with the SE55 scan engine suit barcode-based tasks such as material and asset registration; the ET65EX2 is for sites where a mobile network or GNSS positioning is needed.
